Aims and Objectives

What is philosophy?

Philosophy is the study of thinking about the world, the universe and society. 


​It is done by asking questions about the fundamental issues including nature of human existence, reality, knowledge and goodness, as well as further discovering them through human reasoning.

What are our objectives?

By hosting various events during the term, the Philosophy Club will introduce Paulinians to:

​

  • Analyse the meanings behind various concepts

  • Identify connections between theories by reasoning them logically

  • Evaluate existing arguments and exposing fallacies

What do we aim to do?

As the Philosophy Club, we aim to:

  • Increase students' understanding of philosophy

  • Train students on critical thinking skills and thinking logically through various activities

  • Arouse students' interest in philosophy, as to "think about thinking"
